is there a living prophet?  

the truth of the story prophet there is only told in scripture, there are rarely who able to prove the real truth. Only faith can answer that. So, don't seek the truth of the facts but you should understood what became the story of prophet in your bible

He will preach the word of God. He will talk to you about the death of Jesus and how that leads to salvation. We really need to know what our Bible says and we need to know Jesus so that we are not led astray.
Matthew 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect - if that were possible.
2Peter 2 & 3 warns us of false teachers/prophets 3:17 tells us Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. 18: But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
