Is it fair to implement Duckwort Lewis (D/L) method in a 20 over match?  

Duckworth Lewis method is not a good one for t20 matches, England had good chance of winning the match but due to this method West Indies won comfortable, this method is good for 50 over match. In the group the other team is Ireland it's probable than England will win the match against Ireland and go to super 8. I would suggest in t20 world cup if it rains either the time should be extended to play the whole match or a reserve day should be there to conduct the match...

I don't think D/L method is fair in T20 matches.i think a better method should be invented that is suitable for both the teams.
Most of the times the fate of the match changes.
Also the rule that 5 overs of play is enough for an innings seems ridiculous to me. .T20 is a short form of game and just 5 overs of cricket enough to declare the winner!!? i think at least 10 overs should be considered.
Anyhow the host team WI is lucky this time!!

talking about fairness,where is the fairness to decide the winner in just 3 overs?i supported ireland from the way they bowled and should have won the match if it weren't for duckworth/luwis

It's absolutely unfair if yo ask me. The match between England and West Indies was a joke the other day. When a team scores a massive 191 in 20 overs, most of the times it's going to win. The other day, West Indies got a target of just 60 from 6 overs out of which, 30 runs were already scored in the first 3 overs before the rain started. And the worst part is they have 10 wickets in hand. How easy?
Ask any team captain around the world which one would he prefer to chase. 191 from 20 overs or 30 from 3 overs... It's definitely not going to be the latter.
Just for argument sake, if West Indies had to bat the full 20 overs, surely there would be a lot of pressure on the batting side and probably loose wickets in regular intervals due to constant big hitting.
And when the big guns fall, it's easy to attack the tail handers and control the run flow. This will be strategy on a high scoring game like that.
But since the D/L method was in place, it was become so easy for West Indies to get just a few runs in 3 overs...
It's totally unfair and if this is going to continue in big matches like Semi-final or final, unfortunately, peoples are going to loose interest in the game.
Either D/L method should be banished for T20 or a serious revision in the formula of D/L method should be considered and implemented.
