Gold price hits 5 month high today.  

To me, gold is an average return in long term. At least its value appreciate faster than the inflation. Besides, it's having very low risk, because gold is always a reliable and precious metal all over the world. It's liquid enough and could be easily sold anywhere.

I'm one of those investors who regard gold as a wise investment as it's a profitable investment may it be short term and long term. Generally, gold is regarded as a safe haven against any economic, political, social or currency-based crisis. When paper money is of no longer be of value, investments market collapse or banks became bankrupt gold will be the most valuable as it is accepted globally.

Compared to my other investments, the price of gold has certainly been on a steady increase comparing the price of gold centuries ago and now although it does fluctuate occasionally. Gold investments do generate much more profit especially during the recent soaring price of gold. It has definately benefitted investors like me!

Gold won't beat inflatsion over the long term because it dosen't generate a profit the way a business or a rented property does and the amount og gold which goes out of circulatsion isn't enough to offset the cost of storing, guarding and transporting it.
Also you need to look at how to but gold because ETFs based on futures tend to get hammered since hedge funds know exactly when they will be forced to buy and sell.

Welcome to mylot, yes i check the price daily, i am aware of the price rise, in my opinion gold is the best form of investment, safe..
