it may be a conspiracy theory, but wouldn't things be easier if there was a one world government? then when aliens come to earth and tells us to 'take me to your leader', we would actually know who to take them to..

and the fact that it could really promote world peace. anything that can promote world peace is worth a try..don't you think?

I hope any aliens on their way to Earth aren't of a religious mind. 'Take me to your spiritual leader' is a much more difficult task than the political version. World peace will only come if the real God would stand up!

I think there are just too many different religions and ethnic differences for one worldwide government to be practicable. Even withing some countries today these cause problems and sometimes violence. I don't think we have to worry about extraterrestrials arriving anytime soon, either.
