| |  Yeah. It's actually based on a book. I saw the movie years ago. I have yet to see the sequel to it though. I need to check that out actually. I think what is so interesting about this is the fact that it's not that they're "LET" to kill each other, but forced to. They're given a time limit and if more than one is left by the end of that time, they are all killed.

| |  I just got the Limited Edition DVD of it from Arrow a few months ago and it is excellent and one of my favorite movies. It has both versions of the movie and loads of extras and other cool stuff. I would recommend it.

I have watched this film! But only the first and not the sequel. I was confused with the ending though. During the first scene of the movie the girl was in an army car surrounded by soldiers and she was smiling. She was the winner of the Battle Royale. But then during the ending, she and Shuya had escaped the island and they were on the run. I didn't get what happened.
Still, I enjoyed the movie even though Chiaki Kuriyama's character died. I was rooting for her.^^

Well the sequel is in rutube.ru its in russian but search the title in english and you will see it. You will see some anime in there too. | | | |
