Do you think that the use of e-mails has killed the art of letter writing? |

| When the post falls on my doormat there is nothing nicer than noticing a hand written envelope; you know then that you have actually received an actual real, physical letter from somebody and you can sit down with a cup of coffee, read and enjoy that letter. I don't deny that e-mails are so very handy, and I personally send many e-mails everyday, but I do worry that this handy, convenient form of communication could mean an end to the fantastic art of good letter writing. I have a couple of cousins who still write to me - PROPERLY - on paper, with ink and they tell me all that's been going on in theirs and their families lives, they include photographs and it is a sheer pleasure to receive and read them. In my wardrobe I have two large bundles of letters, one bundle holds the letters that my husband wrote to me before we were married and I was at college, he would write 2 - 3 times a week (and me to him) the other bundle (which I cherish dearly)are letters that my father wrote to my mother before they were married. I found them after my mother dies. They tell me the story of how they met and give me an insight into their lives that I never had before. Every Christmas I 'help' Santa with my letter writing service sending letters to children who have written to the man himself, and some of the feedback I get from the pleasure that these letters have brought is heart warming. All these letters and the millions of others in the world would not be the same in e-mail form; granted there is a REAL use for e-mail and it is invaluable but please, please don't forget how to send a REAL letter. | | Writing a letter | | | | |

| | In most instance, the net as in email have over ridden letter writing. I dont remember the last time I get a letter from the post apart from the bill and I can't remember the last time I write a letter. It fast its secure and its reliable. The only disadvantage is that, when you have no connection, you cant read your message. you see....? | | | | | | |
