Greatest NBA #1 Draft Pick of All Time  

For me, it's LeBron James. Barring any injuries, James is groomed to be one of the elites. He's averaged at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in his rookie year and has become a lot better season after season. 7 seasons in the NBA and he's already won 2 MVPs and led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the finals once. James have turned the Cavaliers into a serious playoffs contender. He's won scoring titles and is one of the leading scorers and top all around performers in the NBA. At 6'8, James is a walking mismatch. He's capable of playing all 5 positions and is very good both offensively and defensively. Even during his rookie year, James have already shown promise and potential. He's outdone his rival Carmelo Anthony and future superstars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Now, James is a walking triple-double and averages close to 30 points a game and more than 7 rebounds and 7 assists in a single season. There's no doubt that James could really win his very well deserved title in the future. Michael Jordan won his first title in his 8th season in the NBA. With his abilities and potential, James has the potential to win more than 1 title in his NBA career. A close second is Hakeem Olajuwon. Olajuwon led the Houston Rockets to two NBA titles and he himself won the MVP award in his career. Olajuwon is Houston's all time leading scorer and one of the NBA's 50 greatest players. At 7'1, Olajuwon was effective at both offense and defense. Olajuwon, despite averaging more than 20 points per game in his career, was more known for his defensive prowess. Olajuwon was a good shot blocker. More importantly, Olajuwon was Houston's leader for more than a decade and turned the Rockets into a serious playoffs and title contender. Magic Johnson is a very close third. Johnson turned the Lakers into one of the most dominant teams in the 80's and was the author of the showtime Lakers. Johnson also was an entertainer. Aside from his game style, Johnson had a rivalry with Boston's Larry Bird and on what could be the greatest rivalry of all-time.

I think the Nigerian American NBA center Hakeem Olajuwon is the greatest #1 pick of all time, not only that he lead the Houston Rockets team to 2 championship rings, but he is the one of the greatest centers in the NBA with some impressive moves in the paint. He change the complexion of the game and he plays with heart and passion.
