this season is not that exciting

i dont know if its me only or this season of american idol is not that exciting. i am having fun watching ellen with her humor and they way she gives her comments. specially when she is making fun of harry connick jr. but the contestant this year are not that talk of the town. i can not even remember their names. all i know is mama sox for she is the only females contestant and big mike for he was almost eliminated weeks ago. do you feel this way too or its just me?

I feel the same way. This has not been a good year for American Idol. I am not really sure who the best is this year. It just doesn't seem right to me this year. I am not sure if American Idol will still be on after this year. I use to really like watching it.

i feel the same way. it was hard for me to remember their names as well, and i find them boring so i don't really watch it all that much anymore. i like ellen too and her humorous comments, although sometimes, i think she was chosen as a judge to be the comic relief.

yes i agree, ellen was chosen so that the american idol can get attention. i guess they are losing their touch already. i can not believe that this year the contestant they chose was not remarkable not like the years before. and it was so exciting when daughtry was eliminated when everyone knows that he was a great one. but now i just dont care who gets eliminated there was no one to watch out. i am more interested on who is the mentor and what will ellen be saying. thanks a lot for the response. one more thing i no longer watch the elimination i just look at the news on the net.

me too. actually, i don't even watch the whole performance show :) i just watch it during commercial breaks of whatever i'm watching at the moment :)

I felt bored with this American Idol season compared to Season 7 and 8. It seems like even the judges aren't that satisfied and you always hear bad comments or not so good comments. During the audition, you cannot even tell who would be a good bet winning the Idol. Unlike the past Idols or previous seasons, you cannot take them away each contestant because they are so good. I like Ellen's comments too...She's witty and has humor.

yes i find that feeling too. that even the contestant did what they think is the best the judges wanted more. for me the reason was they were not idol material. they are talented as we can see but not as talented of the past season. i think todrick hall was talented was booted out to early. the top three are just an okay contestants for me compare to other past few seasons of idol. thanks a lot for the response

Same here. From the start I did not feel that this season would be as exciting as before. However, I still tried to watch it. But as the weeks went by, every thing went boring already. For me there's really a huge difference between this season and the past seasons. In the past, I would really look forward to the show every week, both the performance and results nights. I don't think that the contestants now are that 'talented' as to compared to the past seasons. I don't exactly know what went wrong this season.

contestant are more on the acoustic side, i guess maybe thats one of the reason why it became boring. i am not against of that but seeing all the contestant with the same genre all in one show of looking for the best talent ever is no longer exciting. not like last year were cris allen was on the acoustic mellow side and adam lambert is more on the rock side. there is something to watch out for. this seasons contestant has nothing really new to offer. they can not even own a song just like david cook. and the ratings of idol is not that high anymore compare from the pass seasons. thanks a lot for the response
