That Blogger Thing You Do

Given a choice between being a writer or a publisher, I want to be a publisher. As a blogger, I see myself more of a publisher than a writer. In fact, I worry more about publishing problems than writing problems. So, I'm a publisher.
Blogging is still a confusing medium. It's easy for a blogger to get lost on the whole object of being online and posting stuff for the whole world to read. That's understandable. It took me a couple of years to define what I wanted out of blogs and blogging.
Now, I know what I want. I want to publish blogs. Not just a few blogs, but hundreds of blogs. And I want to publish bloggers and that blogger thing they do.
Why?
It's a civil engineering thing. Large scale projects interest me and project management keeps calling me back. And right now, managing a lot of blogging projects is something I'd like to do.
So, bloggers, who's project manager in your blogging projects?

Great discussion.
I've not yet reached this stage; of managing so many blogs. In fact, I don't have a niche at all. I've even close my blog for awhile now. Been looking for ideas but it's not there. Great that you have an outline of what you want to do and all that; in your case to manage lots of blogs. To monitor them all will be a workload, but I think you will be too busy creating more. Good luck with that, and do tell how your plan goes in future, if any.

Yup. Lots of blogs, lots of work.
I'm actually preparing my book publishing blogs right now while I post stuff here at myLot. Hopefully, by next week, I'll start a book project or two and use myLot as part of my online workspace.

Good luck with your project there, and hope you succeed. Using mylot as online skiving or workspace is fun indeed. It helps to clear our minds too, in a way like relaxation, answering discussions, and at the same time trying to complete other tasks in hand like real work, other projects and etc.

Short answer: When your type of work generates a lot of information, then you need a blog (or website) for storing this information or for attribution purposes.
So, an aspiring writer should have a blog. An I.T. professional should have a blog. A teacher should have a blog. A photographer should have a blog. Hmm. Everybody who do stuff on the internet all day long should have a blog.
