now that you expressed interest, and that you planned the purpose of the forum, let me tell you the requirements.

One. YOU need a name. a domain name. Mostly, It is better to own one.

TWO. You need some domain space. WEB SPACE. and, this too .. better if you own some.

Otherwise, if you go for the free stuff, you will not be able to show your advertisements on that.

next, it is not easy to bring in the so called advertisement revenue.

So, now plan how you will fill the forum with members. This is the THIRD REQUIREMENT.

if you are ready with answers to these three, I will go to the next step.

but I have a domain(free) with me techkarma.co.cc and is currently hosted on 000webhost site. i have created it in order to test how things are done but I'm still not sure about that...

plus u said that I cant have adverstisement on free one r u referring to adsense,adbrite etc or any others companies??

YES. I understand that free sites have their own advertisements integrated into our sites. and, google will not allow two publishers in one page. Atleast that is what I understand.

SO, better go for some independent web hosting services.
same is the case with name. domain name. If you are sure that they are ad free, no problem then.

Now, for the third part. HOW are you going to fill the members for the forum?

well this is the thing I don't know as in my this site itself there are 2 members(who posts) me and my friend, thats it and I don't know how to rope in extra members...

one more thing does that matter that u must have more number of member or is it that one must have active posting members..

as for adsense thanks coz my site was rejected 3 times in the past now I know the reason(I have registered to others as well like adbrite,claxon,bidvertise)..

at present all the hits on my site are only from me and my friend plus a very very few from google serach(i hope so) rest are from spams,adds etc from other countries..

the real point of hosting any forum is to have active participation and wonderful discussion. Just like this.

If only your friend and you start to discuss, it will be a private party. and, you can even chat online, using yahoo messenger, or google chat.

so, first plan a wonderful subject, think about the group that you will be targeting. and then, design a marketing plan, for bringing in members.

if it is free, ok, but, if you charge.. I am charging 5$ per month, or 30$ per year, through paypal, for giving advises online, medical and health related.. to all the family and friends of members.....

think and tell.
