|  If your child is bitten by a poisonous snake ,he needs immediate medical attention.call the doctor or take the child to the hospital.if you can,kill the snake and take it with you for identification.it is important to identify a snake so that correct anti-venom can be given.activity causes the poison to spread,so keep the child as still as you can until medical help arrives or you cab get to the hospital.keep the bitten part of the child's body in a lower position than the heart.the best way way to treat the bite is to apply pressure to the bitten area together with keeping the limb still.firm crepe bandages can be used,but you can improvise with strips of clothing,and splint the whole limb.about 95% of snake bites occur on the arms and legs.so friends,have you ever been bitten by a snake?what was your experience?do you have have more advices to give?

| |  yeah right you must bring him immediately to the doctor cause some venom can kill your child in as fast as 24 hours or even just a single hour..
you can also put a tourniquet some inches from the bitten part so the venom will not flow the blood stream that fast..

| |  i am so curious that i was dream of green snake bite my arm last night ,and today see the discussion of yours .it is so strange .
in the realitic worlk ,i have boten by snake so far .i am so scared about the snake ,the snake will make me crazy ,maybe .i hate them .
but i know a friend was boten by the snake ,it is so creepy that his leg was too tumid to move .and he just stand the pain .and at last ,is the "snake grass"(i dont know exacly what is it name ) ,put on his wound ,and then getdetumescence slowly .
that was happened when i was a child and it is in my mind till now .that is a special experience .

| |  Long back, my father was bitten by a very poisonous snake. It happened late on a rainy night. We children watched him amused at what he was doing. He was bitten on the leg. He took a new shaving blade and made a deep cut where he was bitten. He squeezed out a lot of blood after tying with pieces of cloth on his limb. Then he took hold of my 8 year old brother's hand and walked to the Ayurveda doctor. He was saved just because of the first aid he himself administered..
There are a lot of snakes everywhere in our place and usually we don't kill them..We are taught the first aid, and asked not to fear, as the fear may kill us, otherwise we survive....

SURE, Come here to Australia we have 6 (six) of the Ten (10) Bad Boy SNAKES in/of the World.
We also have Killer White Pointer Sharks (Remember JAWS) The Live shots were done here in Australia.
Then We have Trap Door Spiders that will Kill You.
We have Blue Bottle Jelly fishm, They are a pack of fun also if they get you.
We have Red Back Spiders (widow spiders)
Forget the Crock's they are babies to what we have, HA HA HA Such a fun place come and visit soon.
There is a bight waiting for you. Even the Flies bight.

| |  LOL, well that will discourage visitors. I have always thought it would be great to visit Australia though it is always a smart idea to know the dangers of any place you live or visit. I hope you are not writing the travel brochures :) j/k. Thanks for all the great information I think a lot of people do not always research new environments before they go in search of an adventure.

| |  Snakes have really poisonous venom that can really kill a person in a few minutes or hours depending on the type of snake that had bitten by you. I guess in addition to the first aids to do is for example you and your friend were the only people in that place and no supplies that you can avail upon pressing the bitten area you can sip and spit the blood that can be drawn in the bitten part of the person to lessen the poison that can go through his body, sounds not pleasing but it can really be done to save one's life while waiting for medication

| | You don't want to waste time hunting for the snake or taking a chance that someone else might get bit trying to kill the snake. Remember to be very cautious with a dead snake due to reflex a snake can actually bite up to an hour after it is dead. Also if if you are a good distance from a medical facility call a head that will give them time to prepare. Getting medical treatment as fast as possible is important. If you are more than 30 mins away from medical and there is someone who can do this without taking away from your transport time. Clean the wound with soap and water cover the wound. You can wrap the site with an elastic bandage like an ace wrap or something stretchy. Doing this helps to slow the flow of blood to the heart by way of capillary and venous blood. Yet does not stop the arterial flow. Remember you don't want to stop blood flow this can cause more damage and serious consequences. If you have the wound wrapped be sure to check for pulses. Like the other post before remain calm!! Keep effected area below heart level and use the least amount of movement as possible. | | | |
