had my cortisone jab today  

repetitive motion like srubing wals or floors in the same pattern thats what happened to my shoulder useing the sander drill and anything that I repeated over and over

Cortisone shots HURT! There's no getting around that. It may hurt for a few days, too, so don't be surprised. Fortunately, once the pain of the shot goes away, usually you have no pain in that joint for a long time.

I've had a few of them myself. I don't like getting them because I know it's going to hurt even worse for a few days but I do like having no pain eventually.

I've been diagnosed with tennis elbow, too. This was decades ago and it still hurts at times. When it first started hurting, I was doing nothing out of the ordinary. I had two young children so, of course, I was busy, but I was doing the same things for years with no pain before then. I have no real idea what causes it or why the pain sometimes goes away on it's own without doing anything for it.

It could be the beginning of arthritis. A friend of mine has an 18 year old son who has arthritis in his feet so I know it can happen to anyone at any time.

I hope you don't hurt for long and the cortisone works for you. The best thing you can do right now, since you don't know what caused it, is to take it easy with that arm as much as you can. That's what I do whenever mine starts acting up and, eventually, the pain goes away. Good luck!

really must hurt but shouldn't you at least call the doctor and find out why it ies hurting as my knee quit hurting completely and I could walk without pain after the cortisone shot, just the next day I was able to walk to the post office. You must be like me, my left leg alone broke out in hives a month ago and was medicated almost to death for it, but I still do not know what the heck I was allergic to that would cau se just one leg to break out like that.,with my knee it was diagnosed as severe arthritis. but tennis elbow is probably a little different than a knee as one is bending it all the time just in daily activities. but I do not like to hear you fingers are swelling, could you possibly have a poor circulation problem in your'arm?. I would ask the doctor if you have not done so why your arm is cold and why your fingers are swelling. that would worry me.

Sounds like you got your much needed injections eventually but I understand that this is quite an excruciating procedure.
