We sure do. And they, you bet, they do too.
One good example: When a family member goes on vacation and comes back, they look crazy, they run, they jump... A little example, when you return from work, they also get crazy.
My puppy is like that, gets crazy, runs all the kitchen and jumps to my legs, goes to my mother, like, "look who's back", and return to me jumping again. Licks my hands, gives me kisses like I was gone for years.
Dogs have feelings, they can sense if you are happy or sad, healthy or with a disease, they are very smart. If they can fell it, why can't they miss someone? She thinks i'm her mother, so when I get back home she is completely insane hehe.
I really love my puppy. They are very "care dependent", they need us. One more reason for them to miss us :)

Leo was my best friend. A friend that I can never forget, when ever I remember him I remember all beautiful times we had together. The last thing I remember is "Good bye my friend". I had to leave him for ever and say to myself no more some one to jump on me as soon as I open the dor when I come back home, no more a friend that i use to take him for a walk and share my happiness and sadness with, and no more Leo... I realy do miss him and i know he also do the same. I hope where ever he is he is Happy.

I have a puppy and she does miss me when I'm gone and I miss her.I'm always anxious to get back home to see her.I did have a dog that I missed because he had to live with my mother for a while.I was living where I couldn't have a dog.Now I can,I did take him back, but ended up rehoming him ,because he always bit my daughter. He didn't like children.I have a labrador puppy now and she's doing great with my daughter.
