Why does Boise state have a blue football field?

I have always wondered this! They are the only college team to have a blue field! I think it is cool and Id like to know why they have it!

because their school colors are blue and they could buy blue astroturf....

Thata would make sense! I tried to do some research on why Boise State had a blue field and came up empty! Now i know!
