I have a question in regarding to your own rights. If you were stop by a police, and you were accused of speeding. From your memory, you remember that you didn't drive over the speed limit, do you have the right to ask the police officer to show you the proof of his accusation? Like the reading on his speeding gun? Because it won't be fair base those police officers assumption that you were speeding, and there is no actual proof whether our average citizens were speeding or not. They simply write you a ticket and you have to go pay the fine. So, can you ask for a proof at the moment or contest at court?

Well of course. It my right to know what is my violation and they need to prove it. Even asking for the police id is also our rights. Police officers are not above the law, they're only law enforcers. So its our right to question. If they cant prove it then they don't have the right to issue us a ticket to made us pay.

I will definiotely ask the policeman about the proof of speeding but only a true policeman will do so. We have all right to ask for the proff and if you feel that you were not above the speed limit, you should ask for the proof and above that if charged you can always drag him to the court.

ive found when stopped by police you keep your mouth shut and say yes sir and no sir, then if you think yu are in the right go to court and plead not guilty, if the police officer doesnt have a case he wont show up and you'll win the case. tickets nowadays are so expensive you owe it to yourself to go to court not alone insurance increases and points on your licence. if your sure he doesnt have a case go to court.

I have never been stopped for speeding but here in the uk people will argue over everything, so I do know some people who have asked for proof, usually they will get the photo that was taken by the speed camera. It was actually in the papers about a man who twice had speeding tickets sent to him, and both times he argued that it wasnt him and asked for copies of the photo from the speed camera, they checked the copies to find out that his car was actually parked at both times and didnt have anyone even sat in there, what had happened was that there was a speed camera outside where he parked his car, and when cars were speeding past the camera was picking up the details of his car as well, even though the photos showed that there was no one in the car. So after reading this I would ask for proof for any ticket that comes through, thankfully I havent had any!
