Selling Excess Things

How do you sell excess things in your home? Do you give them to stores that are receptive to that sort of thing or do you give them to friends for reduced prices? It seems advertising them to people and letting them see the stuff and buying it works for many, while others prefer more formal approaches. What is your strategy, if any? Also, how good or bad have these experiences been?

We sell some of our excessive thing to store who really buy old stuff it's the fast and the easiest way to dispose it, you can also create a garage sale in front of you house
