Do you prefer buy it now or auction bid only?  

Hi Apples. I have been using ebay for years and always prefer to bid on an item. I rarely use the buy it now unless it is an item I need and I don't want to lose it.

The problem with ebay is that many do not realise how the site works and bid way too early and inflate the price when there is still days left to go on the auction Most are new users who have not got the hang of things just yet.

Then there are the Shill bidders (may their accounts burn in Hell)

Most serious bids always come in the closing moments of the action and that is the time to bid and snag yourself a bargain. The best way is put the items you are interested in on your watchlist and if they get early bids and the price goes up too much, forget it and find a similar item.

Remember always put a limit on what you are willing to pay for an item and stick to it and avoid a bidding war if you can

I am a very impatient person, so I like to buy it now instead of bid. If i can bid and get free shipping, I'll look and see what the average price for that Item is, and weigh my options.

If the case is will be the same as you have elaborated then I rather buy it now. But there are two things i need to consider before buying and I'm talking in general not only in DVD if the item that I will buy is the only thing left but i don't need it at this moment I won't buy it instead I'll find another when the time I really need it. So always ask your self first if you really need it in a rush or not then if not better wait till the price drop.

I enjoy having fun with the bidding part, but only when it is something I dont really need and I know there is other similar or the same items available. If I need the item quickly then I will use the buy-it-now option when available.
I usually wait and watch the item until it is in it's final minutes of sale to see how much has already been bid, if anything at all. You can get some cracking bargains if you are patient, but I only every buy small items from auction sites.
Bigger , more expensive items I will always go to a shop. I know it's time consuming and not so much fun , but at least you can touch and feel what it is your buying.

Actually, I enjoy doing both! The fun part about bidding is when you get a really great deal, but if you are looking for one item in particular & continue to get outbid on it, then it's better to just buy it now. I think the thing you have to consider is whether you can bid on it and get a better price than the Buy It Now listings, usually by searching completed listings. It's when you get caught up in the excitement of bidding and stop being logical about it that you end up paying more. Of course, that makes it really exciting for sellers too.
