Did Jesus give a hint that in 'Kingdom of Heaven', they will not marry?  

Hi rich, I am happy to see you participating in the discussion I have initiated today. I will not try to convince you that heaven and hell exist. However, I will share with you my opinion about Heaven. Each day we wake up into a new day; each month we step into a new month; each year we step into a new year; likewise, after end of the age we would step into a new world. Right now God is busy creating a new world for those who have not yet come into this world. Bible tells us we too will find a place in it, if God finds us deserving. May be Jesus had been referring to that new world God is creating as 'Kingdom of Heaven'. Jesus' discourses on this new world pointed out to one fact that it would be a perfect place of bliss. You would agree that the world would be a perfect place to live in, when there would be no liars; and last but not the least, no homosexuals. I have added homosexuality because bible says it is detestable in the sight of God.

However, Jesus did not say in so many words but then there would be no doctors, because none would be sick. There would be no judiciary because none would cheat, and kill and tell lies. There would be no churches, mosques and synagogues, because people in the new world would not need religion as a crutch to trudge along the path of righteousness. Custodians of the religion will not be able to deceive people as they are doing in today's world.

Just because someone had raised a question about marriage, Jesus merely ended the discussion by saying, "In kingdom of heaven, they do not marry".

Marriage came into being because people tend to go back on their vows and promises. They tend to lie and cheat. In new world, since the people would be righteous they will not enter into this sort of contract of marriage. They would simply go to live in and remain together for the rest of their lives.

YesBut perhaps at that time you may have thought that I was running around trying to seduce everybody in town, wearing high heels, etc. Yes, even I think that these people may have a mental disorder!

The truth is that I am very monogamous and look like just about every other guy you pass on the street.

And with you, I do appreciate our conversations as I think we are both here to learn...or at least understand different points of view. I profess not to be a Christian, but I can tell you that I have a very strong relationship with God.

Buddha is but a teacher, never stated he was a god nor did he ever ask to be worshiped. All he did was offer a path to eliminate pain and suffering. His main and most important lesson, at least to me was "Suffering (physical and mental) is caused by attachment.

I wonder whether Jesus said that they would be like angels. Translators added many things, to capture people's imagination.

Now you are talking sense achilles. You are absolutely right. Each one intepretes the bible the way he/she understands it as. I don't bother about these things but live a life that is minus hurts to others.

Even now none of us have any idea about our previous lives, yet people marry...

Since there is no need for angels to marry it hardly matters whether they are male or female. I think they must be genderless.

Perhaps they will be , but to date are not. Otherwise how would "They" be able to impregnate women ?

But, I don't have all the answers , only what scripture and the Holy Spirit reveal to me.
