Do you consider an artist a genius or a crazy?  

Art doesn't actually teach us anything . It is just the way cranky people express themselves . Some people , in the name of modern art , just splash old paint on a sheet of canvas and sell it for thousands . What actually is priceless is in a piece of art ? So are sculptures . They are just pieces of stone carved beautifully . But in reality the do not teach us anything . Those pieces of art are only for those who believe that there is something positive is everything . So just don't waste your time seeing those pieces of art .

I think they are crazy geniuses..
Art actually has no particular meaning-It has been debated for several years..
I think, the meaning of a particular art is what you think of it or what strikes to your mind.
I think most of them suffer from crazy Genius Syndrome

I think they are Genius because they can explain unexplainable things through a different way.. like painting.. it's not their fault if you can't understand it.. they are just expressing what they are thinking and what they like to express.

i cant pay a buck for any art form in the museums .. i have no taste for those paintings or other works

not all artists are genuises but the most common denominator they have are they either look or act a little weird. some, i believe even try to act or look a little weird .

eddy i have got to say i have no clue why art is valued but then again there are good art and weird art the weird artist must have something on there mind and they just spit it out but when it comes to go art they think really hard and make it smooth and clean i got to say that i know one artist that made beautiful port its but is sorta weird

Some might say that the craziest people are actually the smartest. They do not cling onto the futile thing called sanity and thus they are not limited in what they do in life. I think in art, there is a lot of insanity but really, art is just something that you need to be a bit crazy to do. And not to mention talented. I am sure many of the great artists were not all there upstairs. In the end, there is a fine line between being crazy and being a genius and often times, they are not exclusive.

As for what art can actually teach, well that is a very tough one to say. I heard a teacher say one time that if you show ten people a painting or a sculpture you would get ten different interpretations. Some of them insightful and some of them coming to the basic consensus that it has no meaning. I just wonder if there are some artists out there that are laughing at people who try and analyze their work when it truly has no meaning at all.

Well you don't need to be crazy or a genius to be an artist. I believe in holy music, the music of Bach can really help you to be closer to God.
I think that some sorts of music is not good for your soul.
People can listen to suicide rock and commit suicide.
