Why circumcision lost it's relevance after Jesus came?  

I mean to say why circumcision lost it's relevance as a covenant with God. I know people still perform circumcision for health reasons.

Thanks Stein for quoting the reference. I personally feel that the Covenant God had made with Noah was unconditional, but the covenant God had made with Abraham was conditional. God gave his word to Abraham that he would have a generation as many as stars in the sky and grain of sand on earth if they resort to circumcision. God kept His word after He came as His own son. Once that covenant was fulfilled, it lost its relevance. Muslims circumcise because they do not recognize Jesus as Son of God and they are still waiting for Christ to come.

Muslims believe that Jesus had come and he was a prophet. God is ONE only neither beget nor begotten, And hence Jesus is neither son of God nor God. Jesus was neither dead nor got crucified, but God raised him to a dwelling place with Him. Jesus will return as per the God's command for the second time near to the last hour, he will stop evils and spread the real message of God, he will lead people, kill anti Christ who spread evil and troubles and will die a normal death.

Jews don't recognize Jesus as the promised messiah, they are still waiting for the Messiah.

It is true I agree because Jesus was born in Isaac's line of descent and not in Ismael's line of descent. In Ismael's line of descent he is yet to come.

Egyptians, Babylonians and Romans too were Abraham's contemporary. Will you please tell me:

1)of all the people in the world why God chose only Abraham and his descendants for circumcision?

2)Why did he make covenant only with Abraham's generation and not the others?

3)Why God did not make any covenant with those who lived before Noah and God chose them to destroy?

4) Did He extend this covenant also to those who will survive after the judgment day? Meaning Muslims will continue circumcision even after the judgment day?

Thanks for providing me with so much of information on circumcision! 60 years before as a young Hindu boy, what I know is Hindus don't aattempt circumcision whereas it is compulsory for Muslims!

Abraham's descendants born of slave woman Hagar are still continuing the practice. Descendants born of his legitimate wife Sarah are not circumcising their males anymore.

if she was a slave then why would a wife ask her husband to divorce and take slave out of home.. she was second wife..
