Good Photo Or Not?

lol did you make the photo larger? The bird is just under the two leaves that are bent over in the middle of the photo. He's a brown bird.

That is the one photo I was wondering whether or not I should have put it in the contest. It almost seems like it would be boring now that I look at it...

Would it be better if the bird wasn't as centered as it is now?

I don't really know the rule of thirds in photography.

Most of the time, yes. Off-center shots with the subject placed exactly a third of the distance from one side is the preferred shot.

If you need to learn this technique, the quickest way is to observe what they are doing with movies. What you need to observe is where the camera man will place an actor in a particular shot. From this, it's easy to see that taking a photograph is similar to filming a movie.

No I didn't climb on anything. I was walking my dog at the time, and just took this picture from the ground. Had to take it quick because my dog didn't like to wait forever! lol

I see then, It'll be better if your try to take in a different angle

Well I have a lot of other pictures that you would probably think are a lot better than this, this isn't the first photo I've ever taken, hehe.

But thank you for the constructive criticism! Someone else did mention cropping it so it's more of the bird.
