As for me, I would but branded medicines if I have enough money for it. But if I can't afford the branded one, I'll go for the generic one :)
I guess it has the same effect though it is differentiated in the time of usage :)

I try to look at the price difference if the price is not that different then I opt to buy the branded ones.

I guess you are right about the quality also is a factor we should consider. There are generic drugs that is not as potent as the branded one. There are good quality producers of generic drugs as well so be aware of that as well.

It is just amazing the little things that we poick up from different cultures and countries!

An interesting question too, I probablywould opt for the cheaper medecine unless I was really, REALLY ill, in which case I would choose the better one.

I am in the lucky position that I don't pay for my prescriptions here in England -I am glad about that as I have 8 different drugs and creams a week !!

I prefer the branded one. It will take a short medication.

For my daily maintenance medicine, I use to go for the generic brand drugs and the effect is equal to the branded medicines. But I opt for the branded one in treating illnesses that needs immediate attention and cure, and faster relief.
