HELP!? Does this word play some important role in your religion?  

well, it sounds really nice. I hope that the most of the people can be so friendly like the ones in your group, just because the world will be a better place to live in, with people like that! I don't know anything about your religion, just have heard about it, but not much!

well, i have never doubt that kindness is less than charity, because nowadays the word charity means for many people something that famous people/celebrities make just to become more popular, to have some popularity and not because they want to help people in deed. yeah, i also guess that we should be kind to all of the people no matter of their material status and their religion, but sometimes there are many rich people who realy don't deserve to get any kindness from people!

well, maybe you are right- sometimes there are people who behave bad with the others and we don't want to help them in moments of deed, but that's actually what we should try to fight with, this "habit", because when we learn helping even the ones we don't want to, then we can surely say that we follow our religion and know the real meanning of the word "HELP". someone has said it once, that if we really want to know what help really means then we must first learn to help our enemies, because helping the others means helping all the people in deed, not only the ones that we like, and maybe that's why there are so many wars in this world, maybe that's why there are so terrorist and so many criminals, just because we don't try to understand them and because we don't try to help them, and I guess that if wetry to help those people, they will let us do it and will change for good. The only think that we must do is to show them that we care and taht there are many others who care for it too
I am not a religious person, but helping the others means a lot to me, and I don't even connect it with religion, for me helping people in deed that actually shows us that we are reasonable creatures and there is something that makes us different than many other animal specieses!

Yes, 'help' does not belong to a certain religion. Human already helping each others far before any religion ever exist, since the ancient age. Some scientists said, this 'helping each other' behavior makes us human different from other living beings in this earth. They made some tests. Monkey is willing to help other monkeys if it knows it can benefit itself, for example to searching food together. We human are different, we are willing to help others even we know it won't benefit ourself. For example donation to the poor. We even help not only human but also weak animals.

Helping others make us different from other living beings. That is why we called ourselves human.

well, it is sad when people with different religions try to help others just to spread their own religion among them, because the help doesn't mean that. and yuo are right also about that the HUMANITY is the only selfless religion.

yeah, i also think that help is something more than just a word in the religion and people have helped each other since many thousands years, even before the religion was created. I also have mentioned that people are different than the other living creatures on Earth because this HELP and i was really wondering do any other animals do that, or we are the only ones. well, now I have the answer with the monkeys. I only think that we must try to stick together, not only people from same religions, but all the people, because help is something that can connect all the people on the world, no amtter of religion

hello! I am really glad that there are still people like you on the world, who really help the others not because of some benefits, but just because they know it is right and it is something good that they can make for people who really need it. I have never taken part in some charity programs or some other helping things, but have given money to charities many times, because I also think just like you- that if I can't be sinless then I can at least try to do something good a day!

It's nice to know that,you also try your best to reach our the needy by giving financial support to charities.

yeah, I am sure that it must be applied to any religion, but I just wanted to know how do you exactly vaue this word in each religion and how much does it mean to you :) yeah, HELP is actually the thing that can make us good at the easiest way, if I ca say it so, because for me there is nothing better than that what we can do than helping people in deed. yeah, spiritual life is really something what we all should try to achieve, but it is really hard for many of us!

yes, my friend! help is not only a word from the religion, help is moer a word from the HUMANITY, a word that shows us what human being means, because we can't call ourselves human beings if we are not ready to help others when they need some help, and as i have already told earlier, the highest achievement of reaching the HELP is to learn helping our enemies!

You said you don't believe in Ben Franklin's quote "God helps those who help themselves" and so you believe God does not help those who can help themselves but help those who need his help the most, well than if that is true why god didn't help the Jews when holocaust happened? if he loves all of us why would he allow such things to happen here on earth? the reason why I am asking you this is because you sound so sure, you sound like you have faith, and I don't and your sentence got me thinking " that's all. If you are very religious help me understand if not I hope somebody here will.

Hi Adalie, thanks for being nice to me. Since you had mentioned at your post you do not believe in God, I will try to explain as much as I can without any Bible references. I will begin with another earthly example. Suppose I buy a car. Car manufacturer will not come to help me every time my car breaks down. I will have to seek help from a mechanic. However, he is not oblivious to the defects that exist in the car. He is watching the defects that are occurring not just in my car but also in every car that he had manufactured. After the cars he built outlive its usefulness, he comes to help but not only to help you but also to help all those who had bought the car. He also wants to help those who are yet to buy his car. He makes a new car and this time it is without the defects and problems that everybody had faced. The real help is not coming from the mechanic who had been helping me every time my car is breaking down but it would come from the manufacturer who would eliminate the problems eventually.

May be my example did not appeal to you. I will give you another example. Medical doctors are treating the patients the world over to cure them and alleviate their sufferings but that is not the real help. Real help would come from the scientists who are right now working for inventing drugs to eliminate those sicknesses.

The father who gives his son bread for asking is not helping him really. The father who is teaching his son the ways to earn bread is helping him in the real sense. Likewise, the father who is giving his son fish for asking is not helping him but the one who is teaching his son to catch fish is helping him in real sense.

God did not help Jews in the time of holocaust because God comes to help only once in an age. He is not around to help us at every twist and turn as many think. God had help them once before by coming himself as His own Son. He promised He would come again. This time when he comes he would usher them into a new world. A world where there would be no sufferings of the kind they had experienced in this world.

Remember, God's help is not palliative. It is not just a remedy; but it comes completely to cure.

well, I am really not sure that it is all true, that God helps only people who need help and can't help themselves alone.I guess that we must not wait for Him to help us/them, and try to help by our own, just because we never know when can God come and help, and as Adalie has said, sometimes God doesn't help and I also don't know why!?

phoenix the phrase, "God helps those who help themselves" sounds great; but try to picture God offering a wheel chair to the one who is able to walk. Therefore, I said, "God helps only those who need his help the most". It also does not mean that we should not help ourselves and wait for God's help to come, or should not help each other. It means God's help arrives only when there is none to help.

yeah, i guess you are right, but I am accustomed not to wait for someone to help meor some other person, I always prefer to do it by myself! don't get me wrong, that's only what i think!

@Achilles, thanks for your explanation, I appreciate it, I am not trying to start a war flame with you what you said makes since but as you said god is not going to offer a wheel chair to somebody being able to walk therefore; let me give you an example I was homeless for about about a year or more, and I never asked for god's help even if I did I don't think he would had answered my prayers because what happened to my family especially my mother she didn't diverse it, I never sat around waiting for his help, I work hard to get off from the streets and nobody helped me and my mother we did it all by ourselves so god help's those who help themselves and not those who are in need just a thought; he helps both those who are need and help themselves

yes, Adalie- we should help all the people who need our help and we must try to help everyone in deed, and not waiting for some prophets to come and tell us whom can we help and whom not, just because he has done something bad in his life and the other hasn't! sometimes I also wonder does God really exist, because of the many bad things that happen to good people!
