My cats are domestic but wild. Lately they have been more wild then ever. Are there any ideas for cat toys that can be found around the home or home-made? I really need ideas. Thanks!

Three very easy ones that will keep your cats occupied for hours.

Firstly, roll up some paper into a small ball. Your cats will enjoy throwing it into the air and chasing it.

Secondly, do you have an empty cardboard box? Let the cat get into the box and then scratch or tap the sides gently. They just love it.

Finally, tie a smal soft item (e.g. a glove or a sock) onto a piece of string. When the cat is close by just jerk the string. They like to play chase.

Good luck with the cat taming (many have tried and failed).

Hi SH578497!!! Good morning to you.

First let me assure you that your cats are not "wild". But, in order to have a clearer understanding of what you mean by "wild"; I will need some more information.

For now, this is what I HIGHLY recommend. Get some catnip. This is sold in virtually any and all stores. Wal-mart, petco, petsmart....stores along those lines. They also have some wonderful toys for your kitties!! But, I can tell you from personal experience that one of my cats, who is a "Bengal" kitty absolutely loves to play "fetch" with us. She wants us to throw her a mouse (a stuffed toy one, mind you) and then, she will chase it and bring it back to us.

Also, kitties absolutely love anything that makes noise. Crumpled up paper, balls with bells inside of them, things of that nature!!! Of course, the homemade part is easy. If you have some yarn around your house; you can create a ball, so to speak, put a little catnip in the middle of it as you begin to make the ball and then toss it across the room. They will love this. But, most of all, what they truly love is YOU!!! They love to play with you!! Cats can be entertained with or without you.

In my group, they all love the "finger game". We put one finger in between the cushions on the couch, make a scratching noise and they come running. They "attack" the finger. They love this!!

Oh, and the best one yet is the "mouse laser pointer"!! This is a relatively inexpensive toy. It runs about $5 at wal-mart and the cats LOVE this one. But, be careful that you don't point the laser into their eyes. You could literally blind your kitty!! Just point it on the floor in front of them and then, they are off and running, trying to "catch" the spot.

Good luck to you
