Hi. I've been looking into this myself.

the one that i keep getting linked back to is called 'whitesmoke'. I did try a trial version of the software and i think it looks quite good though it's not free and the price tag isn't very low.

WhiteSmoke works by letting you press F2 on any text and checking it for you. the alternative is to use a word processing software and type into that and then hit spelling and grammar check. I've done this before or just used a free online spell check of which there are many, just give it a google!

Ok i know it's been a few days but i've also found a free software called grammarly. it works in MS office so if you use word then go for it! you need to search for 'grammarly freeware download' for this one. there is an online alternative just search for just the word 'grammarly' and you'll find it, though you do have to pay per month to use the online one.
