This is a personal observation with my children. I noticed that since we had internet connection at home, I seldom see them using books for their assignments. They go straight to computer and search the net for the answers to their assignments. I once asked my daughter why? and she said, it is better using the net because it has many examples, better explanations and easy understanding for it has colorful illustrations. Thinking, I realized its true. But there are always disadvantages of using the net. Children will be tempted to open sites that are for adults only. Guidance of parents is always needed, what if like my case, I am always at the office. I mean I just think books is still better tool for children. It allows them to think further and to study harder. Can I hear from you MyLotters? Thanks.

Internet. With a book you only get the view of the author that wrote the text book, and if there's any errors you probably wouldn't catch them. You are limited to the book itself. With the internet you can learn about a subject in great detail. You can get opposing views, or see different ways of learning things, and you can do alot more research to find out even more on the subject you are studying. The net also gives students the freedom to learn at their own pace, and encourages them to explore it.

I think it probably takes a good balance for well rounded studying. It's kind of like math, yes the calculator is handy and very useful, but we still need to know how to do it ourselves! The internet is an invaluable tool, but we need to know how to study without it as well!
