Break up Line  

of course it is hard to do if the other person is still in love with you. but it simply is not reciprocated anymore. you don't feel the same way anymore. after all the years and times spent with the person, guilt is a natural feeling. however, it must be done to prevent being dishonest and more hurt in the future. what i did is to talk with the person and say whether she will be happy with that person if that person loves someone else. the answer is predictable. that's what i did and what happened.

look for distance, without saying anything...I believe that truly works

I broke up with someone about 5 years ago now... very hard to do since he is the father of my eldest son... but he took it really well, mainly i think because he knew it was down to as to why it had come to him. He couldn't give me or my son the commitment we deserved, like he should have done... he preferred living life on his own and only visiting us even though he lived just down the road, after 10 years of living like this i gave up, and basically what i said to him was "I'm sorry I can't live like this anymore", and then the conversation obviously went on from there.

Breaking up is never easy to do. The bottom line is that there is not point staying in a situation where you are not 110% happy, right?
I would approach this gently.
I would basically just say that my feelings have changed. That I do not have the same feelings for the person that they have for me.
That I am not interested in pursuing a relationship any longer. Not with them or anyone,
That could be the best line ever since it offers the idea that you are not breaking up to be with another so it wont hurt as bad as if you were breaking up to be with someone else.
I need to work on myself is another line. Or simply that you are not happy.
I want out of this relationship.
Try, we have to go our own way.
I heard a saying once, long ago that what you feel for another, they are likely feeling about you.
Perhaps the feeling is mutual and you just don't know it yet.
I think just being brutally honest is best. Without a bunch of detail, just to the point in as few of words as possible. Do it in person. Not in email, text or over the phone.
Go for a peaceful walk in the park and just say it like it is.

I usually just said the real reason why I'm breaking up with her. No matter what we said if they still love us they will really be hurt. So telling the truth is still the best way to break up.
