I Don't Know How to Quiet my Dog  

Oh she does bark at the visitor all the time that she pisses me off. The treat thing is a good idea. I'll try to do that next time. Do you believe that some dogs are slow learner? Coz I think Chloe is. Or maybe I just didn't spend time training her. Sometimes I take her outside the house but she doesn't stop barking coz she knows somebody - a visitor is inside the house. We don't feed her with any dog food. She eats what we eat. Do you think the food that she eats have an effect to her behavior? Thank you for spending time answering my post.

Yes, over spoiling your dog may have something to do with her behavior. She is trying to set her place in the order of dominance. And she sees visitors as a potential threat to her place in your family "society". Spend more time training her and teaching her that she is a pet. She should not be allowed to have table food until the family has finished eating and gotten up from the table. She should always be fed from her bowl on the floor. And get some dog kibbles in her mix, otherwise you are likely to have tooth or oral health issues with her in the future.

Thanks sleepylittlerose. No,Chloe doesn't eat on the table. She has her own bowl although we feed her the same food that we eat rather than buying her dog food. Our old dog, Tuwedy (and he died already) had worms and we thought maybe it was because of the dog food he eats.

Tuwedy probably picked up the intestinal worms from outside or being bitten by either a mosquito or a fly. If you keep dog food in a cool dry place it should last and stay fresh without any problems. Since Chloe is a small dog, get the smallest bag possible and purchase the premium line. Also using a liquid dewormer for her once or twice a year is not a bad idea, since you know the presence of intestinal parasites are present. Usually the liquid stuff smells like bananas and dogs lap it up with no problem.

I don't want to be spanking Chloe but she's just a b*tch sometimes and she scares my visitors. Like sleepylittlerose's suggestios, treats might work with Chloe as I haven't tried this yet. I'm gonna watch the dog whisperer - thank you for the suggestion.

Hahahahaha that's a good side of it. Although sometimes I think Chloe barks because my attention is with another being and not on her. Is your dog male or female? Maybe male dogs are different?

Lol! That's the easiest way of doing it, hey? TOo bad, my Chloe isn't very smart hahaha. I used to spank her and she got used to it. sigh!

Wow! Thank you for the link. The advices seem very practical! My neighbors hate me as well, I guess. They know I have a freaky dog. Chloe saw a cat today passing by the glass window. Gosh, Chloe barked to death. If she could just eat the cat, she'll do it.

I guess I know that dog barks. But not all dogs bark the way my dog barks =). I think something is wrong with my dog. I want her to bark when its needed - just like other dogs. I guess killing a dog doesn't help, don't you think so?

The silence of the dog will help you eliminate the noise ... Just kidding.

Chloe has a chain but we let her run around the house from time to time. But I haven't tried walking her out the compound. Thanks for the advice - it seems sensible =).
