Why do people prefer to drink cold water than just the 'ordinary'?  

I think there are no such advantages or the contrary and it is just a matter of preferences. My sister likes cold water too but the doctor said that cold water cause inflammation to the stomach and it is not good in the long run, it is up to the patient to believe in it or not so the taste varies to many people.

because water is tasteless and if we drink it cold we cant taste it coz what we feel is cold, if its not cold our taste just concentrated to the taste of the water, also for the fact that cold water helps us refresh specially during hot summer.

Yeah. You really made me think. Hmm? I dont really know. I, too, love cold water. I think it is just more refreshing than that which is not cold. When I drink cold water it quenches my thirst faster and gives me more satisfaction.

Ordinary water seems to be tasteless when we roam in hot whether. Cold water is so sweet then. However cold water could damage the throat and intestine. But those who are used with it have no problem.

Water is tasteless, we drink it when where thirsty. When we're thirsty it means our bodies are hot and thirst is a sign that we need to rehydrate. When you drink tap water, you just quenched your thirst but your body temperature is still the same. The difference when drinking cold water is not only does it quench out thirst but it also helps to bring our temperature down and in the process we feel relaxed. Personally, i don't see any disadvantage is drinking water whether ice cold or not. The more water you drink the better it is for your body.

Because they don't feel the excitement on the way they are drinking..

Fun fact: Room temperature water satisfies thirst better than cold water. So why drink cold water? Well, the answer, in my opinion, is quite simple, it is much more refreshing. Does anybody actually truly enjoy drinking a warm glass of water? When you drink a cold glass, it is crisper and more refreshing, thus tricking our mind into thinking that our dehydration is satisfies. While cold water certainly helps this, room temperature water is ideal for satisfying thirst. So it all depends on why you are drinking the water. Most of us drink when we are thirsty, in which case we should choose room temperature water. If you are drinking just to accompany some food and wash it down, my votes for cold.

Actually speaking from the perceptive of health, Cold water is not good for your throat and digestive system. Even then why people prefer it is a complex question. Its a liking, people think that when its very hot/humid outside if we drink cold water it decreases the body temperature , this is not completely true. Cold water just gives a temporary relief. After having a meal if u have cold water its very bad for the digestion and in effect your health . Its advisable to have hot water instead .

Advantages:

1.)Because of the fact,that we are a cold blooded mammal cold water tends to lessen heat of our body temperature,it refresh..it makes you perspire more..
2.)Water become a little sweet to the mouth

Disadvantage:
1.cost to make the water cold.
2.possible tonsillitis

because it is tasty, especially when the weather is hot. cold water can make you feel satisfied to drink than the ordinary one.
