I just done watching that movie "Book of Eli", I just wonder is there any metaphor at this movie? Denzel Washington is the guy who protect this Bible and hopefully bring it to a rightful place and spread its teachings. While the bad guy also in need of this book for whole different purpose. The bad has a master plan of using this book to control people's mind and heart. "It is a weapon" like he said.
So, a religion can be used as weapon in controlling people's mind to do the harm? Like the terrorist using religion to control those suicide bombers who blindly sacrifice themselves in believing they are doing their God's will. That just sad. Maybe we should look at religion in a whole different angle.

Religion is of course powerful. It can dictate its followers. And for some reason, most government have a law that separates state from religion. I live in the Philippines, and this country was one a colony of Spain. Spain introduces Christianity in this country, and they also use its citizen. We even have a national hero, who fought against the Spaniards, using his books that is against the priest and the people that governed the church and state. I do believe that religion has a good intention, but it can be use to do something bad.
