| |  Probably because you can sign in to iGoogle. Personalize it to your wish.. I don't think normal google.com needs SSL.. only if u have already signed in it will need SSL.

| |  when you sign-in somewhere it is better to use ssl than nothing so the transaction between you and the server can be encrypted and so no one can see the data you send and receive. keep lotting.
