Tough times do not last... |

| Tough times do not last with people who are optimistic about life. I tend to agree with this statement. What about you? Agree, disagree, love it, hate it, anything... | | | | | |

| | Yes, because the person is optimistic he sees everyting positively there is no way to make him feel that something is tough...He is positive that everything can be fixed and will pass by... I hope Im like that. But Im not. Im always fearful. And a super nega thinker.... | | | | | | |

| | Thanks for your promt response clouds! If you are able to see this then you would become a positive thinker soon. I'm sure you would be glad and never regret becoming one instead. I love the way you put 'everything can be fixed and will pass by...' My best wishes to you. Thank you for dropping by! :) | | | |

| | I totally agree with you.Good time or bad time nothing is permanent. When We are optimistic we usually tend to be patient and fight back with the situation firmly.Undoubtedly the tough situation will fade off if we stick to this kind of attitude. | | | | | | |

| | Yes Tomi, you are absolutely correct and I totally agree with your expression! Time fades away many fires and also time heals up many wounds! So, tough times do not last long enough. But tough people (people, who are really optimistic about their lives) always last! Time recycles and it is called, "History repeats itself!" So, the dynamism of time must be visualised well by all! Thanks for this philosophical discussion!! | | | | | | |

| | After 32 years of personal constant experience, I totally dissagree with this statement. Life has been so tough for me, and I have been nice, kind, positive thinking, positive outlook, work harder, give more, take less... the whole 9 yards of optimism and positive thinking and NEVER has it EVER helped me out of a tough time. I vote no for this statement | | | | | | |

| | To further demonstrate my veto....after being in my apt for 15 months, a model tenant, a helpful tenant for keeping the complex nice, a quiet tenant, a perfect rent payer...100%, A+ tenant. Being like that as I am a nice person and thinking that good rewards come to those that do good and positive thinking that I go above and beyond my required duties and things will work out good and I will be treated kindly in return...yesterday they raised my rent $75. When I asked why they raised my rent since I have been here 15 months, the perfect tenant and always so helpful..why raise my rent? The manager said "we treat all tenants equally. IF you were a bad tenant, we'd evict you." Although I didn't voice it, I did say to myself..."so bad ones get evicted but good ones get their rents raised....where's the good and positive in that?" Moral of the story: I'm not doing anything more for this place other than what my lease says I have to do and will start looking for another place to live. It is just proof that the good guy never wins, the good guy always looses and the positive and optomistic way is just a bowl of malarky | | | |

| | Hi coffeebreak! I'm so sorry to hear of all these. And I marvel the whole of your 9 years of optimism and positive thinking. I can see where you are coming from and thus your veto. Reading your comment has brought to my mind that although the darkest hours are just before dawn it is these 'dark hours' that vary from person to person. It is this length of time that spans indefinitely challenging one's trust, faith and believe. Without those years of optimism and positive thinking could you say that you would be better off? Would you rather spend the next 9 years, or what have you, without optimism and positive thinking? Thanks for sharing! | | | |

| | It's been 32 years. Oh that I would have liked it to be only 9! And no, the positive thinking and optimism did absolutely nothing. I don't see that they did a single bit of help in any way. It really depressed me that as I am positively thinking and optimistic and looking for the bright side...and still more bad news. Still, no solutions. So no, those two things did nothing for me. I have learned to deal in fact only as you can't change fact no matter how "good" you think about it all. Am I better off today after what I've been through? Yes, but not cause of those two things. Simply cause I have learned to take things "as is". Don't trust everything or every body and basically my motto is..."do the bet I can with what I hav and hope for the best but plan for the worst". That why, no surprises, no dissapointments. If it crashes, then I don't waste my time dealing with hurt emotions and feelings. If it turns out good.. I can celebrate. I know that sounds harsh but it works. To many years of being hurt because I was positive and optimistic that never did me any good. Next next 30 years? I'll keep on as I have been. Positive thinking has not proven to do any good, so I'll just stay as I am....do the best with what I've got and hope for the best, plan for the worst. | | | |

| | Dear coffeebreak That '9 years' was purely my mistake. I'm terribly sorry. Yes! "It's been 32 years." I understand well enough what you have said. But I do not have all the answers... I'm attaching here an inspiring story about success versus failure and some references from the web where you would probably be able to find what you are looking for. It has been a wonderful learning experience for me. Appreciated very much your sharing! Best wishes to you! 1. http://activerain.com/blo... | | Hi tom, I agree with you tom...God often test our endurance and so he give us those tough times.Without those we cannot determine the difference between success & failures, happiness & sadness, bravery & cowardice...by overcoming all the tough times we can then validate our capacity of what kind of person we are. | | | | | | |
