Is suicide acceptable?  

This is a very touchy subject for many people. I will have to tell you that until you experience a loved one attempting suicide, it is really hard to understand.

For many people who do commit suicide there is an underlying cause or problem that leads them to this. In many cases it is a mental problem. Last year about this time, I actually watched my husband go through an attempt on his own life. He felt that he couldn't do anything right, he felt that we would be in a better place without him, it was very hard watching him go through this. This was actually caused by a mental condition he has, Major Depression.

But, his is not the only condition that many people would rather just end it, I have met people that have had terminal cancer and know they will be dying in a short period of time anyway and would rather just end it before they are in to much pain.

There are so many circumstances that this subject is just hard to handle. Unfortunately, there really isn't an answer as to if this is right or wrong. It is something that happens, it is hard to cope with when you don't have the answers and aren't aware there was a problem with your loved one.

Really unbelievable figure. I really can't believe that as much as one million people die globally every year as a result of suicide. But then again back to your question which you asked if suicide is acceptable? Well this is such a sensitive questions but I really don't think that this is acceptable. Although some might beg to differ with me on that. I really think that suicide is not the answer.

I think that there are alot of different reasons why people try to kill themselves.The people that do really want to kill themselves are thye ones that do not tell anyone that they are going todo it where as there are the others that do not want to kill themselves that take pills and then ring someone to tell them that they are going to do it as in either they do it for attention like my brother or they do it and then decide that ops no one is coming to save them so they ring the hospital.The thing that upsets me is the people that waste an ambulance and if a person kills themselves the family forever think could they have done something to help them.

I think it depends on what each person's belief system is. Do they believe in a god or heaven or hell and so on.

Many people view suicide as a very bad and horrible selfish thing. I certainty won't say it's a good idea... However I myself was in a very very dark and horrible place in my life once and couldn't see a way out. I tried to kill myself. Why? It would take a lifetime to explain to someone who hasn't been in that dark place. It's taken me years of therapy and medication to get over that horrible feeling and find a life worth living. Not to say that I didn't have things to life for in my life at the time. But I so very strongly felt that it wasn't worth hanging around for. I honestly felt I couldn't possibly go on...

In certain cultures and religions suicide is not viewed quite as taboo. Or it's more common for cultural reasons. I think it varies depending on what we were taught growing up.

Of course not. You should not kill yourself it's a big sin. Even if you do some sins you should not harm yourself.

There are two types of people in the world. Some seek escape from problems. Others regard problems as challenges. When faced with a problem they stand up and fight. Those who seek escape from problems are the ones who commit suicide.

One thing that we all must understand is that we are the answer to the prayers of those who brought us forth into this world. We were born because they wanted to live in us. If we kill ourselves then we disappoint them the most. After we are born into the world, the soul in us must mature and attain sweetness. God needs the sweetness in us for creating a new world. By committing suicide, we are vitiating God's purpose for which he had sent us into this world. Therefore, I say committing suicide is bad.

Suicide is wrong. I don't like the very sense of it. It also means that they're weak. They can't find the courage to move on and rather end their lives cuz they think it's worthless. I think every life here on earth has a worth. They just have to find it in their hearts what their true purpose is.

yeah. .. is a very sensitive issue to talk but my opinion is that is better to commit suicide than say that you will kill yourself like 100000000000 times and f*cking your family life and not do it, as many parents use to do, not intrested in the feelings of others and just trying to draw some attention. Personally i respect a lot all the ppl who commit suicide because i dont even have the BALLS to do it when lot of times i felt like doing it. Sorry if i offended someone but is what i think.

Suicide should not be seen as acceptable. it is a crime against yourself. Taking your own life should not be rewarded by society. Death is hard enough to deal with
when it comes unexpected. Suicide is planned death. it should be something we accept as commonplace.

well ofcourse not friend suicide is not at all acceptable!its very bad if someone do this as its awaste of life the most precious boon of the creater to us!one shpuld not at all commit suicide!
