Meeting A Stranger From The Internet In Person

I think it's as safe (or as dangerous) as meeting someone offline. There are a lot of crazy people out there, not just on the internet.
I actually met my boyfriend online, and I was uneasy with that at first, but we decided to meet in a public spot (shopping mall) and we went for a movie and 5 months later, I can honestly tell you I'm deeply in love with him, I've met all of his friends and family, and we're very happy together.
So I guess it's just luck, both online or offline. You just have to be careful.

In my opinion there are good points and bad points to meeting someone online. The internet has made possible so many things and in today's society it would seem fair that it would also help improve our love lives. I think the only downside is people have to be smart about it. A simulated relationship online via emails, messages, and webcam is just that... simulated. You want to talk about all the deep things and not so much the everyday fluff. It's just another avenue to meet someone great or shady! I say be open to it but always meet in a public place. Don't make promises and feel that you owe the other person a relationship when you haven't had a real one. Get to know a person by going out on dates with them in real life. Really get to know who they are and if they want the same things in life as you. I met my boyfriend online and went through many duds and great guys before him! It's all on how you approach it!! Internet dating is big business now and many people are meeting online and getting married. Of course many young people are getting caught too and some have been murdered here through a meeting of someone off the internet. When I was single I put my profile on a Church dating site which was free and was chatting with people from all over the world which was really interesting. My wife found me there too and we chatted also but developed a closer relationship and eventually I went to the Philippine and got married. Best thing I ever did.

Hi, rosie230. No. I have never met or dated anyone online. I think that it is just too risky to date a person off of the Internet and then meet them for the first time in person.. I hope that your brother did not sleep with her. Meeting should be done in public and not alone with someone. I think that he should take more time trying to get to know her more. I am glad that he returned back safe and not hurt. He just need to be careful. And being that you, his sister is very concerned, he should try to be more alert. Just because this girl seems alright now, does not mean that she will always be alright. He need to find out more about her before jumping into a relationship. You are right, to be worried about him. Your brother needs someone to think about him and his new woman.. But don't stress yourself about it as I am sure that you have your own life. I think that he should keep his eyes and ears opened. With you being very concerned, he just may need to be.

Yes , online dating works. I got close frens who are married to person who they meet online and such. I also have frens who have nice one night stands with these people too and also read in our local newspaper people get cheat and robbed from these people too. So i guess online dating or meeting people online have it good and bad points. So i guess being patient and spend more time chatting with these people , will give u more chance to know them. Initially i guess , do not give too much personal information like exact house address , Credit card number, direct house phone and hp. If using hp use those disposable hp and non personal critical hp numbers. Meet in crowded places. Meeting face to face is always better than online chatting. Give time for the relationship to grow before jumpin into the ship.
10 years ago , the internet online chatting is still innocence.Nowsday the internet forums and chatting are fill with wolf in sheep clothing.There so many of them..For the inexpericed, unlucky and desperate people , the online chatting place is a dangerous place to be.So be warned and cautious all the time.Have fun and be safe.

I think sometimes its dangerous to meet people on internet and meet them in real. So if you like to meet someone, you should bring companions with you at first and know him/her better and just be careful for everything

I have met a few people in real life that I have known online. Most are good people. One I stupidly dated. But I made a friend or two who don't live very far away. I guess it depends on what you are meeting them for, and where. If it's a date, a very public place is the best bet, and have friends call to check up on you.

For me if you don't have a referral to that person it is not safe many are now a days been killed because they meet someone that is not good it is a bad person are.

I've met a couple people offline and they've all been great. It's just about getting a feel for someone. Actually the person I'm dating now, I met 2 and a half years ago online through another online friend. Talking online turned to texting which turned to talking on the phone and eventually we met and fell in love.

I have never met anyone online yet in person. But I do have a constant online friend who's nice, and she's also here in Mylot. She seems to be a very genuine person, and we live in the same province. I think you can at least tell whether the person is genuine or not. You just know it.

There have been many cases here in our country where the girl has been raped by the guy that she first met through text messaging, and the same thing happens to those who first met online. You cannot trust a person especially when she/he seems suspicious.
