Facebook earn money by giving up your info to marketing companies  

It does seem out of order really doesn't it... It is actually quite shocking to know... I don't think that our info should be distributed like that, especially when someone is making money out of us... Really something should be done about it... but I bet it wont

This is fact and I'm actually mad at facebook for it. The way they're getting through with the "breaking the privacy rule" is that once they started doing this, they added a section in your privacy settings to turn it off...but they did it by automatically setting it to on and not really telling any of the users that it was being added to let them know they need to turn it off if they didn't want it. I'm quite mad about it.

I'm not surprised at all. Facebook with all it's changes has become more and more of a privacy risk. I wonder if this has to do with the recent posts by my friends now stating to again change privacy settings on facebook due to facebook allowing other sites to use our information as well.

I'm pretty sure they are banking big bucks with all the registered user information they collect! Although its probably great for marketing...I don't appreciate being tricked into being solicited to buy things I don't want or need!

Is it true aur just your interpretation as u are charging a company having a value of 15 billion.

This is bad, they are making money out of our personal details. There has to be some way to stop them doing so. I think if this is authentic and we get some proof, we can take them to the court.

Actually not only facebook. Try reading the terms and condition of facebook, It says that they have the right, as the third party, for the information that we give them. Try also for example yahoo and google. Have you ever wondered those spam messages that you are receiving? That is because they are selling your information. Why are they doing this? Well it is their why of earning. Why on earth would those sites offer us free email account? Free social networking? Nothing is free in this world.

ya,all kind of free stuffs in internet including email , facebook , twitter , google , myspace and others will surely use their huge visitors traffic for their gain and profits directly or indirectly. The huge information they gather are use for data mining for target advertisiment , even your cookies in your pC they can access to see your browsing habits and such.There is nothing strange they are doing this because they need to made profits too. As internet user we must reliaze not to give our private information, once things get online , it is no more private.

I was anry and shocked when I heard this! Nothing is private anymore! Everyone is out to screw everyone else! I thought FAcebook was better then Myspace! Not! They did the same thing! I will stay on Facebook but Facebook better clean ita act up! Is there any social site that won't sell our privacy?

I think this is just a scam. Don't be fool to give your info, they will use it to scam other users.
