yeah - the thought of something we love being termed a 'classic' does tend to make us feel real old doesn't it lol

hi sender, thanks for telling us your views on this, funnily enough I am just listening to another song that always gets my heart pumping while I'm reading your comment (Rock with You by Michael Jackson, reminds me of my teenage days and always makes me want to dance..)

it's strange how some songs do become so iconic isn't it and have you humming and foot tapping the minute you hear the opening bars :)

I hear what you're saying about so many similar films out there, there's only so much they can do with a romantic storyline after all - it's just that for me, at least, Pretty Woman is the epitome of all those films, their chemistry almost makes it believable and I think that fundamentally many of us want to believe that somewhere out there fairy tales do come true cos life takes a lot of work most days lol

I love the bit where she goes back to the shop girls that wouldn't serve her the day before and asks them if they're on commission and if they remember her, then tells them they made a 'big mistake' before walking off with all her purchases in tow :)

And I love the part where his partner tries something with her and he tells him off. And the last scene where he goes to get her. I am such a romantic! These movies get to me real quick. Have you seen A Mirror Has Two Faces with Jeff Bridges and Barbs? Cute one.

I love the bit where he goes to get her too - and the scenes she has with the Hotel Manager where he goes from being embarrassed that she's in his hotel and trying to get rid of her to respecting her and inviting her back, then telling Richard Gere that the Limo Driver took her home the day before...

I haven't seen the Mirror Has Two Faces, I shall have to look out for it - I like Jeff Bridges a lot and most of Barbs films. I'm waiting to see Crazy Heart - did you see that yet, I've heard good things about it?

Yes, the Hotel Manager was a dear wasn't he? And when he helped to teach her ettiquette and so forth was great too.

Jeff was great in both. Mirror is one to see if you enjoy these types of movies. The two of them are great together. I also the doc about her directing the movie. Fun stuff.

Yeah, I often wondered what could be done with a sequel, their chemistry is so good in that film, it would be nice to see them living happily ever after with the odd disagreement thrown in, (they're meant to be human after all lol), and both of them working hard to maintain their relationship and bring up kids, maybe doing lots of charity work, helping more than just her friend to get their lives back on track...

hmm now there's a thought!

Actually my hubby really likes it too - and it takes a lot to keep him awake when watching a movie, we normally stick to watching action films or he nods off, but something about Pretty Woman works for him too :)
