Should you tell white lies to save your relationship?  

I won't lie, period. I don't like to be lied to and I believe that what you put into this life will come back to you, so everyone knows- don't ask unless you want the honest truth. That's just how I am. I don't tell half truths, to me that's the same as lying, and I NEVER make excuses. I'm human and I mess up sometimes, it happens, and when it does, I accept whatever the trickle down effect is because of my own mistakes.

Faith on each other is very critical in any relationship. If you start telling lies then the faith which is very importnat in relationship, will be lost when truth will reveel itself, and thr relation ship will be ruined. And remember truth will always reveal itself, if not today then tomorrow.

well, making white lies wasn't that kid of an evil thing but it's like lesser evil or simply bad. But I guess making lies out of your partner is not a good thing. Well, I think that those bad, playboys and inborn liars were the ones who really need to use it to save their relationship. I don't like lying at all because I don't want to experience the time that I'm the one being lied at.

Yes, as much as possible, I want to be honest with my partner in life. Telling white lies just to save the relationship is not advisable, although in every rule, there is an exception. But remember, if you have succeeded in telling white lies, you never when the truth will re-surface again. So, try your best avoiding telling white lies. Honesty is the best policy.

Honesty in a marriage is definetly an important factor in order to be a healthy relationship. A lie is a lie, the truth is the truth. I was raised to always tell the truth, and be responsible enough to accept the outcome. You use the word "white lie" which changes everything, or does it? I always try to be honest, unless my daughter asks me about Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy. I lie to her and tell her that they are real. Is it right? I am protecting her innocence and so I justify the lie. I am not forcing religion on you, but their are those 10 rules. Even if you are agnostic, it does not hurt to follow them. You pose a tough question with the "white lie". It all depends on the danger of the truth and if it is going to hurt someone. Telling a child that Santa is real, is one thing. Telling your spouse that you are going to your mom's in order to go and party with friends is another. The more lies that you tell, the more that you have to keep up with. Have you heard the adage "the truth will set you free"? If you treat a lie, whether white or not, as a marble and every time that you tell one you put a marble in your pocket and carry it every where until you tell the truth and are free to dicasrd it. How many marbles will you be comfortable carrying??? Do I carry marbles? Yes, but not very many. Good luck.

To be honest i dont think u should lie as a relationship is built on trust and trust is built on honesty and then look at it in a different view if ur partner/husband told u something that wasn't true and later u found out how would that make u feel as the truth always comes out in the end but on the other hand if u feel u need to lie to ur other half then maybe u should think about changing ur relationship

When I and my husband was still dating, we often argue about me telling white lies because I don't want to argue on things that is not worth arguable. Before believe that as long as you are loyal to your partner its okay to tell lies to avoid arguments, but I realized being honest in all things makes the relationship stronger. Because it will gain trust to both of you especially when you are in a long distance relationship.
