Overall I think cooking is a lot more difficult than baking for basic foods. Baking comes very easily to me. Cooking I have a little bit more difficulty with. I can cook hamburgers and rice and simple stuff. But I struggle a lot more when you get towards more complex meals. I don't think I've ever struggled or messed up with anything that I've baked.

Hi there Ms. Pitot!

I think baking is more difficult than cooking. Because when you're cooking, you have what you're cooking in a stove in front of you and you can taste what you're cooking from time to time and make necessary adjustments to improve its taste unlike baking when you mix the ingredients and you'll just have to wait until it's done since you can't just open the oven once what you're baking is already there. I think in baking, you have to be really accurate with time and measurements.

i agree. in cooking you can adjust everything but in baking you can't just change the ingredients. another thing is that in baking, you can't say that you are successful unless it's done already unlike in cooking even in the middle of cooking a dish, you can already say that what you're cooking will be a hit to those who will eat it.

I prefer baking though I haven't tried it but I think this will interest me more than cooking which I really hate.

why do you hate cooking? i love both cooking and baking.

myLot reputation of 95/100. laniekins (1905)  2 years ago

I get bored waiting for it to cook, I don't like trying to make the food delicious for the benefit of the people who will eat it. I just don't like to spend the time to cook.

I think baking is more difficult to do than cooking, because in baking there are some techniques and it is more complicated than cooking. While in cooking, I can just fry or boil. But I like to know how to bake, the problem is we dont have any oven.

myLot reputation of 91/100. mspitot (2395)   ranked 48 out of 563 in baking  2 years ago

i agree...about your problem, uhmmm that is really a big problem cause you cannot bake without that. hehe
thanks for sharing you thoughts!

both are easy when you do with passion and joy.but honestly for me, even if baking is more easy to prepare the stuff but it is quite difficult to get the best result and definite taste.a slight mistake will lead to bad result as you can do nothing when its already in the oven while when you cook you still can adjust them while cooking.happy

That is true. You cannot say that you are successful in baking until you take it out from the oven and taste it.

I feel baking is more difficulty compare to cooking..
Baking require more expert knowledge about the subject and you must be good with temperature setting in oven and which is suitable for what product like cookies, cakes etc etc
Even baking powder/soda which we add we must be need to be prefect in the quantity as small mistake ruin the product/finished product
and in cakes we use costly items like nuts, butter, chocolate so if end product is not good, all money and efforts get wasted.
Cooking can be done on cooking gas but baking needs special oven and equipment to bake the products.
