I tell you the worst experience whose I had.
I had been so looking forward to braestfeeding but my first experience was a nightmare. Angelika wasn't able to latch on properly so my nipples became red raw, like open wounds. the pain was indescribable. On top of that, I had 3 really bad bouts of mastitis. I struggled on, feeding Angelika using a nipple shield - which I soon discovered was frowned upon by the braestfeeding lobby. I felt quilty using it and was nervous to feed in public.
But now it is all right, so I will carry on feeding for as long as it suit us both.
