If you died tommorow, would you be pleased with the life you lived?  email this discussion to a friend?

A bit of a morbid question but it got me thinking. I think I have lived a good life, to the fullest when I can. If something happens that causes my demise tomorrow, I would be satisfied and not feel that my time is wasted. I didn't accomplish anything notable, but fame and fortune is highly overrated to begin with. I have lived life to its fullest and enjoyed while I was here. So how about you? Will you be satisfied with your life if you pass away tomorrow? Looking forward to reading your responses.

How can anyone tell anything or what he feel after he/she died.lol Sorry just kidding, well for this reason only I do live my life to fullest, and planned for the future of my family as well so that they don't face any financial issues atleast when I am not there, and try to make it more and more powerful as per my level best. Rest I believe in living in today, think a bit for tomorrow, so that I don't have any guilt or hard feelings for what I have done. If I have done something wrong I try to correct it with my best ways or if I have hurted someone I don't hesitate to say sorry, even if that person is younger or elder. So Live the life to fullest.thumbup

I think about things like this often, does that make me a morbid person? Yeah, probably so. lol No,(*sigh*) I haven't live life to it's fullest, I sometimes don't think I live life at all. To some people this might seem like I'm just being a baby, but I'm an overachiever, and for me, I haven't done nearly all that I feel I should have. I got married right out of high school and my husband and I had four great kids, we did everything we were supposed to do. Focused on making a life for our children, and what have you, but my kids are getting older and I'm feeling like I haven't done the things I wanted to do for myself. Does that make sense? I'm fairly certain that everything I think is normal, but I sometimes feel like I'm being selfish to admit, I want more from life. I'll get there, I just haven't done it yet.

myLot reputation of 99/100. StephanieAnnC (1574)   ranked 7 out of 32,950 in life  2 years ago

I totally agree with you. I'm such an overachiever too! I feel like I haven't really lived life either. No, you aren't being selfish. It's YOUR LIFE, remember that.

myLot reputation of 98/100. megamatt (7970)   ranked 564 out of 32,950 in life  2 years ago

Well, that's a good point. Until the moment is end, we should always want more. That is not selfish. I mean, as long as we are still living, we can still be alive. However, if it gets cut off, then I think I will be satisfied. Of course, that's hopefully a long time coming but you never know. Until then I'll get the most I can out of life, until my very last breath. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I am not yet ready to die. I have too many things to accomplish. If I die tomorrow, I will surely say that I am not satisfied to the thing that I have done. It's not the question of enjoyment that I had. It's the fact that I never did something worthwhile that will satisfy or make others happy. No, not yet. Not now, not tomorrow. Let me finish my good deeds first.

myLot reputation of 98/100. megamatt (7970)   ranked 564 out of 32,950 in life  2 years ago

I doubt I will ever truly be ready to die. I think the question is, if I had wasted what life I did have or not. Death will come abruptly when it happens. Perhaps it is bit more drawn out if we contract a fatal illness, but you get the picture. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

myLot reputation of 98/100. megamatt (7970)   ranked 564 out of 32,950 in life  2 years ago

Yes, live for the moment with the future in mind. Still, you never know when there will no longer be another day. So we have to enjoy life while it lasts, whether it be for moments more or hours or days or weeks or months or years or decades or whatever. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

If i died tomorrow? That would be so sad, I still have a gazillion things to do in life. But, if I did die, I might be pleased with my achievements, but not totally pleased. The fact that I still have stuff that I might want to do in this world does not make me a happy camper if I die. Plus, I still want to get married and have kids some day. And graduate from this course and eventually cure people.

myLot reputation of 98/100. megamatt (7970)   ranked 564 out of 32,950 in life  2 years ago

Death at any time would be saddening to some degree. You always wonder what you could have done with a few more days of your life I would think. I would be satisfied to a degree but at the same time, my final thoughts would be what else I might have accomplished with a little more time. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Well, I try to live my life the best I could. But, you can not really dictate how a day goes. Some days, are so bad while some days are so good. Hopefully, we all will have a good life ahead of us.

Yes, family is always something that is a concern. While I would be sastisified with my own life when it ends, life does go on for other people. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I am SO not ready to die. I'm only nineteen years old! But besides my age, I feel like I haven't accomplished ANYTHING I've wanted to do! I mean, yes, I graduated high school and now I'm in college studying to be a teacher, but I want to actually BECOME a teacher. I have so many goals to complete that I feel like I haven't even started. Yes, I've found the love of my life, but I want to get married to him and have kids.I want to travel to at least one exotic country outside of the US and get my book published! Although, I have done things that I've wanted to do in life though, up to this point.

Although, I must admit, I'm pleased with what I have done so far, but I wouldn't want to die. So no, I probably wouldn't be completely 100% pleased with my life if I died right now.

myLot reputation of 98/100. megamatt (7970)   ranked 564 out of 32,950 in life  2 years ago

Yes, I mostly meant what you done so far. Of course, there will also be some sense of wanting to do more. I still want to do more, but what I have done so far is good. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

In that case, I might be a bit more pleased, but not entirely. You're quite welcome! Thanks for posting such an intriguing discussion!

I hope I don't die tomorrow I just started! But, If I did since I'm still young I would say that NO I have not lived my life yet.

myLot reputation of 98/100. megamatt (7970)   ranked 564 out of 32,950 in life  2 years ago

Yes, the younger we are, the more we think we should have accomplished. I think I have accomplished what could be considered a decent life. Not spectacular but satisfying to me. I still have a lot of time to accomplish more or at least I hope I do. Still, if my number was called, then it would be good enough but I just want more. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
