We hear these words different point of time, when someone suggests a 40 year old man to play football reply woul dbe "I am too old to play footbal". "I am not young enough to join Facebook and play games". I can understand that there are physical constraints for few things to do but most of it comes from will power, you think you can, you will. What do you think?

yes as we get old theres really things that we can no longer do specially if it requires physical activity unless we are still physically fit, though at age 40 i still can see a lot of men even having weight lifting and they are still strong, 40 is not really old. i guess you just need some exercise to feel young again as if you really feel your getting old then you really will.

Most of the time its about the will power and the dedication, not about physical power. Exercise is always a good thing to do, that keeps you fit and active. Thanks for the response.

Well if the old person you're talking to is on a wheelchair and you're asking him to play football, I bet you'll know the reason why he'll say that line. It depends on the person you're talking to. Will power is one thing but if the body really can't do heavy tasks then they might probably mean it when they say they're too old for it.

I am sure noone will ask a man on wheelchair to play footbal. Its about those who can do but still make execuses like me - I can play football but if you ask the obvious answer would be "I never played earlier so...." Thanks for the response.

I think it is a bunch of bullsh!t! If you are in shape , one can play any sport. If you Want to learn oe do something new , you will do it. The Only thing I can think of is depended on your age is ballet. a 40 year old , even if he/she is fit can Start ballet. There may be a 40 year old veteran who can Still dance but that's different.

If not capable of doing things and do not want to do is fine but being capable and making execuse is not good at all. Thanks for the response.

I guess that if you have a deteriorating condition like arthritis or something that comes with old age, then you'd have an excuse, but it wouldnt be because the person was old, it would be because they are in bad health. I know many people though that have 'conditions' which they are constantly blaming for not being able to do something, when before they were diagnosed they used to do everything. That annoys me more I think. 'Its because of my condition'. Then I just think to myself how little sympathy they're going to be getting from me.

Depends on each individuals capacity. Like,a 60 years old to play basketball, which i think is really absurd. When it comes to physical aspects age does matter a lot. But,if we are referring to something new, like new technology that doesn't need any effort, but just the power of mind,i think,no one is old to learn new things. Computer is one of the latest device that elders doesn't want to try of face off. My mom is on her late 50's and still eager to learn the computer. After a month of determination, she's so good with it that she even bought her own laptop and now enjoying facebook and other social sites connecting with her friends who also were of her age yet, still fond of learning this kind of technology. No one is too old to learn new things it only needs determination and patient.

I am talking about being capable and not doing. If I am 60 year old definitely it does not make sense to go for footbal but at 40 being fit and making execuse is bad. Good to hear that your mom is very proactive on learning. Thanks for the response.
