Singapore Women’s Team - World Team Table Tennis Championship 2010 Champion!

At the recent concluded World Team Table Tennis Championships held in Moscow, the women' s table tennis team from Singapore had just created a major and historical upset by beating the world's super power in this sport - China.

China, the reckoned powerhouse in this sport for both the men and women as well are shocked by this year's Singapore women' s team and must have been stunned with this result.

I do not think no one including team Singapore would have anticipated this outcome and victory. Especially, when they have been last beaten by China at both the 2008 World Championship and Beijing Olympics with 3-0 and 3-1 margins, respectively. This time round the tables are turned and this team from a tiny red dot on the globe had beaten team China with a reverse margin 3-1.

It is a really much awaited victory for Singapore and definitely a sweet one. So, a heartiest congrats to team Singapore! cheering

China had been dominating the game of Table Tennis many years now. Yes, they are the super powers in that sport and it seems that they are unbeatable in those events, both the men and women's division. The upset will be a good one for the game because it says a lot about other countries. Singapore is a surprise team and winning the championship makes it sweeter. The other countries should also be optimistic that it can be done. Gone are the days of Chinese dominance, brace up for better games ahead.

learn2earn, Well, this victory is indeed a historic first for Singapore - a real life David and Goliath tale here. I hope that Singapore will be happy for their women' s team as I just have full credit and admiration for them.
