In my view, it's true that cellphone will become more and more important in our daily life. In the future it will not only be a machine which is used to communicate, but another electrical platform just like computer. But I don't think that it will completely replace computer, just like radio and TV could not completely replace newspaper. For example, when you stay at home, do you like watching film on computer or watching it on your cellphone?

I don't think cell phones will replace computers any time soon. Computers do have more storage space & faster speed. Also larger screen. There always will be need for a computer, I think. May be in few decades, but not in near future.

ya the celphones are advancing in such a way that it will replace computers soon. but everyone said that the coming of computer will vanish the television but it had not happened. tv is still in every home. like that improvement in cell phone technology will be useful but not replace computer.

I suppose that could be possible, but the cell phone screen would have to be bigger than what they are now, as in essence they are just to small to do much as far as the internet is concerned. Now, mine has a screen size that is bigger than 3 inches, but it still is way to small compared to the computer. My phone is considered a pocket pc, as i can do everything on it I can on my computer, well almost everything anyway. I really don't look for cell phones to take the place of computers to soon, as there are people that don't even have a cell phone, and so they do rely on their computer to get things done. You never know though, it could happen, and sooner than we think. Take care, and happy mylotting.

I highly doubt cell phones will replace computers. Maybe in a few years more and more people won't bother, but computers will still exist. There are those (like me) that could do a lot more with computers then with cell phones. And, for me to depend souly on my cell phone, a lot more adaptive technology would be required.

i agree with that, that cellphone will soon replace computer. but the only problem is when your sight is not that good then you will still be using the computer. like for example when watching movies online the cellphone is very small so you will enjoy more on watching on the bigger screen. so cellphone is very handy and very cool and it a short time the features will be like the pc already.

i don't think so.a computer is a computer and a cell phone is a cell phone. Both cannot match each other.Just fro the reason that a cell phone has more features,it can't substitute a computer's place.Even we can speak phones though computers and we don't call them phones.

Hi friend, Few years is too long for development in cell phone looking at thehe way mobiles are developping they have today, internet access, soccial netwroking, media player, and what mini office suit, pfdf reader and so many features. My present phone N-97 lacks only bigger screen and high storage when I compare it with Computer. I believe 3G cell phone with above features available todauy in market are almost Like Computers in hand.

I agree many cell phones have many of the features of a computer, but cell phone can never replace computers or laptops, think of the keyboard size, the display monitor particularly, computer is always the king... Thanks . Welcome always. Cheers. Prof
