Today I started and finished The Blind Side By Micheal Lewis. I decided to read it after I saw and loved the film by the same name. I really enjoyed the book as it taught me a lot about football (I am an avid NFL watcher in the fall but don't know as much about the game as I would like) and it tells a wonderful story about a poor African-American child who gets taken in by a rich white family who changes his life and gives him opportunities that he never would have had. I really enjoyed the book and thought it an uplifting story that shines a lite on a bigger problem of what happens to the other kids in poor neighborhoods who are never given the same change that Micheal did. This book just captivated me so much that I read it from cover to cover today. Have you ever read a non-fiction book that captured your attention that way?

Sounds interesting. I am now reading the Biography of Queen Victoria and her consort Prince Albert. I saw the movie a few days ago and it inspired me to read their biography.
