Just a point I'd like to know that I can't find on FAQ's

I have tried searching and I have looked through the FAQ's and I can't find the answer I needed. My worry is that I have been a member now for just a month but I have had around 8 discussions deleted. I now know the reasons most where deleted but what is worrying me is that I have heard tales of 'banning' on Mylot, and I am worried that because I have had these discussions deleted, am I in danger of being banned? I hope that this discussion is not against the guidelines, I have tried to make it that it is not, I would really like to hear of your experiences and thoughts on being banned from this website.

In the TermsofUse we are told: 'myLot may terminate your membership at any time, without warning.' http://www.mylot.com/o/terms.aspx Repeated violations (such as spamming, plagiarising and abusive behaviour) would obviously lead to termination of accounts but it seems that when a user genuinely makes a mistake and corrects it and does not repeat it, then myLot are not waiting there to pounce. Likewise those users that were banned and then returned with a new account and abided by the Terms are still here. I can confirm this

Thanks, so I'm not likely to be booted off for the deleted discussions that I have had so far?

If you have understood the reason for those deletions and therefore you do not repeat them then I very much doubt that myLot will give you a push Mistakes are made so that we can learn from them right? I certainly learnt a lot from mine and now try to help others sothat they do end up making he same ones. Maybe that is my 'myssion' on here Pick up the pieces and have FUN here oldchem

HI oldchem: According to what I know about the site, Mylot can delete your account if they consider that you have repeatedly violated the Terms of Use and they consider that these violations are serious enough that you can't continue being here. But according to what you have said you simply have committed some mistakes that everybody as a new member can do so I think you don't have to worry about it. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

I don't start all that many discussions, but none of the ones I have started have been deleted. I have had lots of responses deleted though, as I would help users when I knew their discussions would be deleted. That is what mylot is all about is being able to help others, as most of the ones who are violateding the rules are those that are new in here, and haven'[t read the guidelines. I don't ming helping others, but on the same hand, I do get tired of doing the same thing over and over, as most of the time, users just keep doing it. The ones that are thankful for the help, will read the guidelines, and won't violate them again. I will still help others in spite of it, as losing a few cents here and there doesn't really matter anyway. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
