I don't have nightmares often, but last night, I woke up in the middle of the night after having a disturbing nightmare. Is there any particular reason nightmares may occur?

I have heard a lot of things about what causes bad dreams. I have heard that stress and worry can cause them but I have also heard it is just maybe something or someone you have on your mind. There is so much involved with the brain that people don't understand that it is hard to say what actually causes nightmres.

ya, that's where I'm at right now. I've heard many different theories on dreams and nightmares, but I haven't heard anything that tells me for sure "This is the answer."

According to what I have learned, nightmares may be caused by stress or a negative/traumatic experience. It may be caused when you are overworked and very tired. According to my friends it is a form of a demon attack, in forms of nightmares. According to some, it is caused when a person just over ate.

sometimes it occur when i had problems that i can't solve in real life or maybe after i saw a ghost film or when i feel so angry that i can't express to the person who made me angry. there is so many factors, maybe you can ask yourself to know the cause and solve it

Sometimes it happens when your stomach is upset (too much eating). Some other times it is just that you have to sort out something that´s on your concience. Our brain has strange ways to deal with our doings.

well...if many people came to know the reason then not many people would have nightmares everyday will they? I think basically nightmares comes from loneliness and being alone most of the time. Having someone who can understand you is a great way of overcoming many nightmares. And watching many scary movies is also a reason for having nightmares. I don't think you will get any if your not alone.

I think possibly not being alone could give you even more nightmares. Nightmares about losing someone. Scary movies yeah that does give you nightmares, especially when you're a little kid.
