I just recently started to create my own fertilizer using left over vegetable peels and some earthworms. I heard the quality is very good and well it is free and doing some good for the environment. Anyone got some tips for me from past experience?

My next garden proyect is to make raised beds to have a vegetable garden in a small plot next Spring. We are nearing Winter in my country and its the best time to make the compost and prepare the beds as the climate is mild. Check on "compost" online. Earthworms are wonderful helpers to transform the compost in a much better soil in nutrients for the plants. I´m making a pile with leaves and throw in everything vegetable I can get in the kitchen (peels, some old lettuce or pods and so on). I have a small container in the kitchen to receive all that during the day. Check this link too: http://www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/ I hope this helps you!

Well yeah try using raw food waste that you didn't eat and store them in a "trash bag or container". Let it decay and that would be very good fertilizer. For example, use the fish bones (I doubt you eat them so :D)

I built myself a container in the garden so its all thrown there and once in a while I water a little and turn it around. Thanks for your post.
