What happens to your printer if you use expired ink?

We found a pile of inks for our inkjet printer in the storage room. All of them are unused but expired. Do you know if my printer will get damaged if I still use them?

i have once tried the same.. but, got my ink-jet printer get jammed with the dried out ink, ... it was because, I have insisted on the CLEAN the NOZZLES option of the EPSON printer.
now, I am using laser HP..
hope you have not spoiled the printer once and for all.. .. just my opinion, from my experience.

you are right. the ink will dry if not stored in a right way. But if stored in a cool and dry place it should be ok.

now I SEE.. how foolish of me.. I think, i have BROKEN the sensitive NOZZLE of my printer, when I forced it to such suction of dried ink.

No. Even if the date is expired it could be used upto a certain time, say three months. An expired date is given to indicate that the quality will be deteriorated if used after that date.
