Do ever feel like people just dont understand you?

All the time. Maybe I just can't express myself properly...I don't know. Even my husband doesn't seem to "get" me. I am not a stupid person, but the feeling of being misunderstood all the time makes me feel that way. I have no idea how to get over it. Anymore, I just keep my comments and opinions to myself to avoid trouble.

Yes, I often feel that some people just don't understand me and/or what I'm trying to say and do. It's not always the case and it's the case with everyone that I'm close to, but it is the case with some people. In these case, I do feel somewhat lonely.

i have fibromyalgia and get the subsequent brain fog that goes along with it plus i sleep horribly at night and i often feel that people dont get me or think i must be dumb or something.

Yes! All the time! My family is like that with me. Some of my friends are like that and most of the people I work with don't understand me either! So many people think they have me figured me out and they arn't even close! I try to hard to get people to understand me. I think I do it because I want to be understood,to be excepted and loved. I have found out in the world and on Mylot I over due it! Then everything blows up in my face! I piss people off,I have lost friends that way, and then I make myself bummed out! I am pretty messed the way I sound! If I had some self confidence I wouldn't be driving myself crazy!

I am quite a bit older than you and sometime I feel that way to this day. What I do is that I talk it out and if I can't do that I write my feeling into my little notebook and that seems to help.

I always feel that way. I dont expect people to understand me anyway. There are people I know who really understands me and they are my sisters. My sisters and I have been to lot of things and they are the only person I can turn to whenever I have some problems. I love my sisters very much.

Lately it has been the story of our life. My husband has a job where his boss keeps on cheating him out of pay and it has hurt us financially. My husband writes down his work hours and fills in his time sheet, but what we have noticed lately is that his boss is crossing out certain times he has worked and basically my husband does not get paid (they expect him to work for free). I have had several people tell me that what his boss is doing is illegal, but the sad thing is that this is our only source of income (I make a little extra by doing surveys and PTC sites which really do not pay much) and right now I do not want to jeopardize his job. THis is only happening to my husband and we are afriad that it may come back to his boss that my husband is the one who reported it.
If anyone can please guide me on how to make extra money or how to get over my mild depression, please let me know. Thank you everyone, you are all great friends.

Nobody's been able to understand me since I was LITTLE. When I was a kid, I would just sit around and talk to myself or my dolls and play by myself at school. I had a few friends that were just about the same way, so we would play together sometimes, but most of the time, I was on my own. As I got older, I found fewer and fewer people that would understand me, and so I just turned invisible to everyone.

The feeling never went away. I still walk around sometimes and hear people talking about me like I'm not even there, and they don't notice me until I'm right up next to them.

Only a few people truly understand me, and they are my closest friends.
