I was wondering I love cabbage, The green kind that you boil, They also have a purple cabbage and it is usually made in a salad like raw which I really like the taste of it in a salad it is so good. I was just wondering can you boil this kind of cabbage? Has anyone tried it?

I have never boiled purple cabbage but I imagine it would be just the same as green cabbage. The flavours of the two aren't that different. I just think that the purple colour wouldn't be as intense after you've boiled it. I wonder if purple cabbage has more vitamins and minerals in it then green cabbage does? I know that cabbage is a super food. It has so much good stuff in it. It contains vitamin E for healthy skin among others.

Hi, jahernandezrivas. I have never cooked the purple cabbage before. I have only eaten it in cold fresh salads and coleslaw. Here is a recipe below that will explain how cabbage of the purple color can be cooked.

I'm pretty sure you can boil it. It'll just loose some of it's color though thru the cooking process.
